Various UK press outlets are reporting that Michael Sheen, Katie Mitchell and Robert Plant will be recognized on the Queen's annual New Year's Honours list.

OBE was chosen for actor Michael Sheen, who played former British Prime Minister Tony Blair in the 2006 film The Queen and is now in theaters being seen in Frost Nixon, and a CBE for jazz musician Courtney Pine.

Katie Mitchell is an associate director at The National Theatre.

Robert Plant has forged a successful career since Led Zeppelin's breakup in 1980, recently collaborating with singer Alison Krauss on the acclaimed album Raising Sand.

Most of the 966 people on the New Year's list are honored for voluntary work or for their contributions to health, education or local services.
