Shane Attwool, Mark Bazeley and More Lead SCENES FROM A MARRIAGE - Full Cast Announced!

Shane Attwooll (Peter/Arne), Mark Bazeley (Johan), Melanie Jessops (Mrs. Palm/Mrs Jacobi) and Aislinn Sands (Katrina/Eva) will join the previously announced Olivia Williams (Marianne) in Trevor Nunn's production of Ingmar Bergman's Scenes from a Marriage,adapted by Joanna Murray-Smith. Scenes from a Marriage is produced by St. James Productions.

The production will run at the St. James Theatre from 11 September to 09 November, with press night on 16 September 2013.

A portrait of extraordinary intimacy and a searchingly honest and moving love story. We follow Johan and Marianne from their seemingly perfect happy marriage through betrayal and loss to warring contenders in divorce and beyond.

Shane Attwooll's first professional stage appearance was in Trevor Nunn's Porgy and Bess (The Royal Opera House). Attwooll's work includes Playing with Grown-Ups (Theatre 503), The Man on Her Mind (Charing Cross Theatre), Enron (Noel Coward Theatre),Shawshank Redemption (Wyndham's Theatre), The Buddy Holly Story (Victoria Palace) and I was looking at the Ceiling and then I Saw the Sky (Southwark Playhouse). Attwooll's television credits include Dark Matters, Titanic, Foyles War, The Ghost Squad and Spooksand his film credits consist of Trevor Nunn's adaptation of Porgy and Bess and The Man on her Mind, Kingdom of Heaven and The Station Master.

Mark Bazeley's theatre credits include Our New Girl (Bush Theatre), The Seagull (National Theatre), Death of a Salesman (Lyric Theatre, West End), Macbeth (Albery Theatre), Homebody/Kabul (Young Vic), Antarctica (Savoy Theatre), The Real Thing (Donmar), Richard III, Julius Caesar, The Devil is an Ass (all RSC) and Measure for Measure (Cheek by Jowl). Bazeley's television credits include Death in Paradise, The Suspicions of Mr Whicher, Endeavour, The Body Farm, The Accused, Mistresses, Hustle, The Shooting of Thomas Hurndall, Stacked, New Tricks, Foyles War, Spooks and Prime Suspect. Bazeley's film credits include The Queen, The Damned United and The Special Relationship.

Melanie Jessops theatre work includes The Illusion (Southwark Playhouse), The Prophet (Gate Theatre), Single Spies (Watermill),Taking Sides (CFT/West End), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Lincoln Centre, New York/RFH), King Lear and The Seagull (RSC Stratford, World Tour and West End), Romeo and Juliet (Shakespeare's Globe), Scenes from an Execution (Hackney Empire) andDavid Copperfield (Greenwich/Sheffield Crucible). Jessops is an associate of The Wrestling School and her work for the company includes: Victory, Ego in Arcadia, Judith, Und and Blok/Eko. Jessops film credits include King Lear and her television credits includeDracula, A Touch of Frost, My Dad's the Prime Minister, Poirot and Absolutely Fabulous.

Aislinn Sands has formerly worked with Trevor Nunn at The National Theatre in Troilus and Cressida and Summerfolk. Her additional work includes Proof (Birmingham Old Rep) and The Suppliants (The Gate Theatre). Sands' recent television credits include New Tricks(BBC1 TV series), Secret Diary of a Call Girl (BBC), Afterlife (ITV1) and Murder Prevention (Channel 5).

Eight critically acclaimed productions have been staged at the St. James Theatre during its first year. Playwrights have included Sandi Toksvig, Timberlake Wertenbaker and Richard Greenberg; with directors including John Caird, Sally Cookson, Max Stafford Clark, James Dacre, Sir Jonathan Miller and David Grindley and with actors including Anthony Andrews, Barrie Rutter and Diana Quick.
