SADLER'S SUMMER MOVES is an outdoor season of festivals and gatherings taking dance performances and workshops outside the four walls of the theatre.

Dancing alfresco, Sadler's Wells, the UK's leading dance house, returns to both Latitude Festival in Suffolk and Wilderness Festival in Oxfordshire this summer dispersing a diverse programme of dance across the country.

As well as presenting at festivals in July and August, Sadler's Wells brings dance to London's Great Get Together and Your Stratford Stage with the capital serving as a backdrop for an outdoor stage and innovative works, free of charge to the public.

Latitude Festival HENHAM PARK, SUFFOLK

Thursday 18 - Sunday 21 July 2019

Tickets: from £202.50 + Booking Fee (Adult weekend ticket)

For the 12th consecutive year, Sadler's Wells celebrates its long-standing collaboration with Latitude Festival by presenting a varied programme of international dance on the Waterfront Stage including performances from the flamenco innovator Jesús Carmona, BBC Young Dancer Grand Finalists and one of the world's leading contemporary dance companies, Rambert.

Off the back of his week-long artistic residency at Flamenco Festival London, former principal dancer with the acclaimed Ballet Nacional de España and flamenco innovator, Jesús Carmona will continue to share his results from delving into the idea that masculine and feminine energies are not based in gender in an attempt to transcend social conditioning and narrow definitions of masculine identity. Jesús will perform alongside four other artists, including live music bringing a fresh perspective on this most soulful dance style.

The Grand Finalists from the BBC Young Dancer competition also join the line-up to provide Latitude audiences with a taste of the best young home-grown dance talent.

Following the success of the first two competitions in 2015 and 2017, BBC Young Dancer returns this summer with dancers aged 18-22 representing four styles of dance. The individuals will showcase the energy and electricity of a street dance solo, the versatility of contemporary dance, the grace of ballet and fine detail of South Asian dance.

Rambert, one of the world's leading contemporary dance companies, returns to Latitude with a new work by French choreographer Marion Motin.

Motin's work is hip hop-influenced and often centred around strong female characters. She is best known for her music videos, including Christine and the Queens' Tilted and Dua Lipa's IDGAF. This is the first time she has created work for a contemporary dance company.

This inventive and playful, guitar-driven dance has its world premiere at Sadler's Wells in May 2019.

Eva Martinez, Artistic Programmer and Producer at Sadler's Wells, comments: "It's great to see the Place and Dance Umbrella at Latitude Festival. Having other organisations presenting alongside Sadler's Wells shows a demand for more dance in the mainstream arts."
