Rachel Tucker releases her debut album The Reason on August 12th 2013.

This album takes us on a journey, from Rachel's childhood, when she sang the 'Al Jolson & Judy Garland Medley' with her father, through some of the highlights of her career. Rachel's songs include 'I'll cover You' from Rent, 'No One But You' from We Will Rock You and 'One Night Only' from Dreamgirls It also reflects some of her more personal experiences; her most recent being becoming a mother, with her version of 'Small Bump' by Ed Sheeran.

This album has been a long time coming for Rachel, but every song has been carefully chosen to reflect both her life and career to date.

Following her appearance on the BBC's I'd Do Anything where she reached the semi-final stages for the role of Nancy, Rachel was offered the part of Meat in Queen's We Will Rock You (Dominion Theatre), marking her West End debut.

After two-and-a-half years and over 1,000 performances, Rachel recently finished starring as Elphaba in the West End production of 'Wicked' (Apollo Victoria Theatre). She played this iconic role longer than any other actress in the production's history and this album debuts a brand new version of Wicked's iconic song 'Defying Gravity'.

"I didn't quite know where to start or even how to choose the songs, but once I realised they needed to come from a place and time in my life that was of meaning and importance, it became clear what I should sing! I am absolutely delighted with the outcome of this album. It was a real joy and a pleasure to make."
