Digital Theatre announces its next release - the Olivier Award-nominated revival of Eugene O'Neill's masterpiece Long Day's Journey into Night starring David Suchet and Laurie Metcalf. BroadwayWorld has an exclusive clip from the production featuring Olivier nominee Kyle Soller with Trevor White. Check it out below!
The Pulitzer Prize-winning play, which was captured live during the production's critically acclaimed run at the Apollo Theatre in May 2012, is available today from Digital Theatre, www.digitaltheatre.com.
David Suchet returns to the West End stage following his performance in Arthur Miller's All My Sons. Long Day's Journey into Night marks Digital Theatre's second collaboration with independent Production Company Stanhope Productions and is the second Digital Theatre release to star David Suchet, having captured All My Sons during its sell-out 2010 revival.
He stars alongside three-time Emmy Award winner Laurie Metcalf, a founding member of Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company who is widely known for her performance as Jackie on the US sitcom Roseanne.
Directed by Tony Award winner Anthony Page and with design by Lez Brotherston, Eugene O'Neill's semi-autobiographical play paints a powerful portrait of a family tormented by the past and paralysed by its own personal demons. Intense and passionate, this classic drama is one of the greatest American plays written in the twentieth century.
They are joined in the cast by Trevor White as Jamie, Kyle Soller as Edmund and Rosie Sansom as Cathleen.
