West End stars Emma Williams, Eva Noblezada, Daniel Boys and Anton Zetterholm are to perform in a concert of the music and lyrics of award-winning US composer Ryan Scott Oliver at the St James Studio tonight 23rd March. RSO in London will feature music from Oliver's shows including Jasper in Deadland, We Foxes, Mrs Sharp and 35MM: A Musical Exhibition and the composer has traveled to London to host the concert.
Emma Williams is a two-time Olivier Award nominee, and currently nominated for a Manchester Theatre Award for her portrayal of Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun. She has also appeared in numerous TV and film dramas including The Parole Officer, Bleak House, First Night, Marple and Casualty, as well as several productions for BBC Radio.
Eva Noblezada was discovered by New York casting director Tara Rubin during the Jimmy Awards, a high-school musical theatre competition, where she performed 'With You' from Ghost the Musical. Her first audition with the Miss Saigon team was soon after that and it all went from there. Eva is currently starring as Kim in Miss Saigon and it marks her professional and West End theatre debut.
Daniel Boys rose to prominence in the hit BBC show Any Dream Will Do. Since then Daniel has performed in lead roles in numerous West End shows including Spamalot, Avenue Q (winner of 2009 Theatregoers Choice Award for Best Takeover in a Role), Rent and Grease. In 2009, he released his debut album So Close which led to a series of sell-out solo concerts across the UK. Last year Daniel became the new voice of the iconic theme tune for the Australian soap Neighbours.
Anton Zetterholm won the votes of Phil Collins, Disney and the German public in reality show Ich Tarzan, du Jane and went on to play the eponymous role in the German premiere production of Tarzan. Other roles have included Fiyero in Wicked and recently, Enjolras in the West End production of Les Miserables.
The concert will be directed by Katie Pesskin whose credits include Jason Robert Brown's The Last Five Years starring Danielle Hope and Jon Robyns, for which she was nominated in the BroadwayWorld UK Awards for Best Direction. Musical direction is by Michael Riley (The Last Five Years [Greenwich Theatre, London], The World Goes 'Round [Union Theatre]) and casting by Benjamin Newsome. The concert is produced by Susan Winter and Katie Pesskin for As Told By Productions.
The concert will also include performances from the original UK cast of Ryan Scott Oliver's 35MM: A Musical Exhibition - Kirsty Marie Ayers, Dale Page, Benjamin Powell, Niall Rooney and Rosie Ward. Further casting is yet to be announced.
Whilst in London, Ryan Scott Oliver also held a one-off UK version of the masterclass he founded in New York with Lindsay Mendez - Actor Therapy. The workshop took place 22nd March at Greenwich Theatre and included repertoire and audition coaching. It was open to actors at any stage of their career looking to perfect performance and audition technique. The workshop was supported by Greenwich Theatre.
