Ruth Wilson is headed back to the stage after her star turn in Broadway's CONSTELLATIONS.
The Daily Mail writes that she will take on the title role in Ivo van Hove's upcoming production of Henrik Ibsen's HEDDA GABLER at the National Theatre this winter.
Ivo van Hove, whose interpretation of THE CRUCIBLE is currently playing the Great White Way starring Saoirse Ronan, previously directed HEDDA GABLER in Amsterdam and New York. His contemporary take on A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE, which just ran on Broadway, is slated for Los Angeles and D.C. this season.
Designer Jan Versweyveld, a frequent collaborator of van Hove's, will also bring his touch to the director's modern HEDDA GABLER come December.
Wilson is well known for her roles opposite Idris Elba in LUTHER and Dominic West in THE AFFAIR. The actress will soon be seen in the film HOW TO TALK TO GIRLS AT PARTIES.
Aside from Broadway's CONSTELLATIONS opposite Jake Gyllenhaal, she has appeared onstage in THE EL TRAIN at Hoxton Hall, ANNA CHRISTIE and A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE at the Donmar Warehouse, THROUGH A GLASS DARKLY at the Almeida, and PHILISTINES at the National.
