REFLECTING REMEMBRANCE

In support of the Festival of Remembrance and as part of the Hall's reflect series, Reflecting Remembrance is an exhibition of artwork produced by primary and secondary schools and led by the Royal Albert Hall's Learning and Participation department.

The exhibition has been created in partnership with The Royal British Legion, the Royal Hospital Chelsea and the National Army Museum to explore the realities and consequences of conflict.

In June this year, a group of teachers from schools across London had the opportunity to visit the war cemeteries and battlefields in Ypres and attend a moving Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate. The day was organised by Poppy Travel, the specialist travel arm of The Royal British Legion. The teachers then met at the National Army Museum for a follow-up creative day before returning to their schools to explore the topic further from both a History and Art perspective.

As part of the project, students have toured the Royal Hospital Chelsea and met with the Chelsea Pensioners, participated in workshops at the National Army Museum and handled artefacts from the two world wars and met with people who have survived conflict.

Free open days:

Saturday 14 November 12noon-4.00pm

Saturday 27 November 12noon -4.00pm

Presented by: Royal Albert Hall with kind support from the Man Group plc Charitable Trust
