Their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will attend a Royal Gala premiere of a new production of Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens on 17th June 2009.  Kensington Gardens is where J.M. Barrie first met the children on whom he based Peter and the 'Lost Boys' and told them the stories that eventually became Peter Pan.  For the first time in over 100 years Peter Pan will be returning home in this new production staged in a specially designed tent and featuring 360-degree projections.

The funds raised from the Royal Gala Premiere will be in aid of The Prince’s Foundation for Children & the Arts an educational charity that helps disadvantaged children to experience the arts in a high quality and sustained way, targeting children who would not otherwise have the opportunity to experience the arts and will work with over 24,000 children in 2009/10.  The event will be attended by celebrities, VIPs and supporters of the charity.

The new production stars Jonathan Hyde as Captain Hook, Abby Ford as Wendy and Ciaran Kellgren as Peter Pan and is directed by Ben Harrison, former associate director of The Almeida Theatre and one of the world’s leading exponents of site-specific theatre.

Ticket prices for the Royal Gala performance range from £70 to £150 and are available from www.visitlondon.com/peterpan or on 0871 386 1122.
