Plays And Company Announced For Amplified Theatre's SIX at the Bunker  Image

Amplified Theatre announces the plays and company for it's unique new writing event Six coming to The Bunker in April.

A Star Called Jim by Amy Bethan Evans

Inspired by the song Keep Flying With The Music by Jack Kelly

Directed by Niall Phillips and starring Shane Noone and Joshua Ratcliffe

Inspired by the song Lucky Day by Onyx & The Red Lips

Directed by Charlotte Arrowsmith and Assistant Direction by Mia Ward, starring Daniel Alun, Laura Goulden, Charlie Hembrow and Lara Steward.


I Served Hugh Grant An Orange Juice by Harry ter Haar

Inspired by the song The Ooh Song by The Coffee Shop Kids

Directed by Amrita Acharia and starring Grant Reeves.


Care by Stephanie Martin

Inspired by the song One Foot Before The Other by Jamie Herd

Directed by Georgie Staight and starring Ben Mann, Ella Road and Laurence Ubon Williams.


Salt by Felix O'Brien

Inspired by the song Stay Right Here by Anna Pancaldi

Directed by Liz Bacon and starring Alim Jayda and Matthew Mullane.


I'll Miss The Starlings by Michael Southan

Inspired by the song Get Through This by Phoenix

Directed by Paul Anthoney and starring Emma Hemmingford and Gemma Kenny.


Each writer was given a song and instructed to create a short play, of no more than 15 minutes in length, inspired by the track.

All performances will be fully captioned for deaf and hard of hearing audiences. Amplified Theatre was the first piece of theatre to use these technologies in the venue.

Amplified Theatre is a company that pioneers the fusion of live theatre and alternative music genres.

Founder and Artistic Director Stephen Lloyd says "Amplified is all about building an artistic community through creative collaboration and Six does exactly that."

Previous artists include, Stephen Collins (Reasons To Be Cheerful, Graeae), SuRie (Eurovision Song Contest), Nadeem Islam (BBC See Hear Studio Presenter) Jamie West & The Banished Poets (Young Busker of the Year winner), John Kelly (Paralympic Opening Ceremony), Max Runham (Tommy, Ramps on the Moon), Charlie Toko (Once in a Lifetime, Boris Karloff Assistant Director, Young Vic) and Tom Wentworth (Bush Theatre Emerging Writers Group).

Jeni Draper, Artistic Director of Fingermith's said, "It's a great concept. Loved it. Brilliantly acted and directed by a properly diverse cast. Bravo team Amplified Theatre."
