LET IT BE, the forthcoming West End production celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Beatles, yesterday, August 23rd, unveiled its company as they performed a spectacular rooftop gig in Central London, echoing The Beatles' famous 1969 performance on top of the Apple building on Savile Row. The company of LET IT BE announced their arrival in the West End by playing an impromptu gig including hits Twist and Shout, Hard Day's Night and, of course, Let It Be, to an invited audience at the Vista bar on the rooftop of The Trafalgar, overlooking the LonDon Skyline.

Previews of LET IT BE in the West End start on 14 September at Cameron Mackintosh's Prince of Wales Theatre, with the opening night on 24 September. The show will coincide with the 50th anniversary of the release of The Beatles' first single. Love Me Do was released on 5th October 1962.

The company of LET IT BE consists of ten performers, who will share roles from night to night. Performing on the rooftop yesterday were Emanuele Angeletti, Gordon Elsmore, Reuven Gershon and Stephen Hill. These four will alternate the roles with John Brosnan, James Fox, Michael Gagliano, Ian B. Garcia and Phil Martin, while they will be joined for several songs by Ryan Alex Farmery on keyboards.

The company of LET IT BE was formed by producers following an international talent search, including open auditions at the famous Cavern Club in Liverpool. Hopeful musicians from all over the UK, and beyond, were auditioned, with only the very best being invited to join the company.

Audiences at London's Prince of Wales Theatre will have the chance to relive The Beatles' live performances of their early hits including Twist and Shout, She Loves You and All My Lovin', as well as global mega-hits Yesterday, Come Together, Hey Jude and, of course, Let It Be; all performed by hand-picked master musicians.

LET IT BE is a media rich theatrical concert created by the global phenomenon RAIN, which showcases the works of the world's most successful rock'n'roll band, using dazzling video footage to tell the story of the band's meteoric rise from their humble beginnings in Liverpool's Cavern Club, through the height of Beatlemania, to their later studio masterpieces. It is the first time that the Grand Theatrical Rights to The Beatles' back catalogue have been granted by Sony/ATV for a West End production.
