The London Production of Monty Python's Spamalot celebrated its first birthday last night Wednesday October, 17.
Peter Davison who plays King Arthur made a speech at the end of the show and the audience at the packed Palace Theatre joined the cast in singing "Happy Birthday." Peter along with
Hannah Waddingham (Lady of the Lake) and Bill Ward (Sir Lancelot) cut into the nearly 5-foot tall Birthday cake with Arthur's legendary sword Excalibur! After a standing ovation and a chorus of "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life," audience members were each given a unique 'grail' cake as they left the theatre.
In the audience last night were the judges and presenter of "West End Star," the Swedish TV program searching for London's new Lady of the Lake. Auditions are underway in Sweden and over 500 girls have been seen by the judges so far. The first programme in the TV series will be aired on December 9, 2007 on TV3 in Sweden when viewers will see the first selection of girls!
