Photo Flash: Production Pictures from the London Production of PARADE

The London revival of Parade, the acclaimed Broadway musical by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Alfred Uhry and award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown, will play a 6-week season in the atmospheric new double-chambered Vault theatre space at Southwark Playhouse, from Wednesday August 10 - Saturday September 17.

Alastair Brookshaw plays the central role of Jewish factory manager Leo Frank, who in 1913 was accused and convicted of raping and murdering a 13-year-old employee, Mary Phagan. Alastair was in Craig Revel Horwood's revival of "Hot?Mikado" at the Watermill Theatre, was a vocalist in the dance musical "Shoes" at Sadler's?Wells and was last seen in the West End in "Cabaret" and "Blood?Brothers".

Laura Pitt-Pulford (Lucille Frank, Leo's wife) recently played Sarah?Brown in "Guys &?Dolls" at Salisbury Playhouse. Her other roles include Lola in Craig Revel Horwood's revival of "Copacabana" at the Watermill Theatre and Betty Schaefer in "Sunset Boulevard"?at both the Watermill Theatre and its West?End transfer to the Comedy?Theatre.

Simon Bailey (Tom Watson) was Raoul in "Phantom of the Opera"; Lieutenant Torasso/Count Ludovic in "Passion" at the Donmar Warehouse; Enjolras in "Les Miserables"; and understudy Galileo in "We Will Rock You".

Mark Inscoe (Hugh Dorsey) was Bernadette in the West End musical "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" and appeared in the original cast of "La?Cage Aux Folles"?at the Menier Chocolate?Factory and played Dean?Martin in "The?Rat?Pack?Live From?Las Vegas".

The rest of the cast features Kelly Agbowu, Jessica Bastick-Vines, Michael Cotton, Terry Doe, Natalie Green, David Haydn, Abiona Omonua, Philip Rham, Samantha Seager, Victoria Serra, Samuel J?Weir.

Parade centres on a true incident which aroused anti-semitic tensions in Atlanta and the state of Georgia. The events led to two groups emerging, the revival of the defunct KKK and the birth of the Jewish Civil Rights organisation. Parade covers the trial, and also dramatises the love story between Leo and his wife Lucille, at the same time subtley examining class and race relations, prejudice, and the Deep South.
