South Staffs Operatic Company will return to Wolverhampton Grand Theatre this autumn with Monty Python's hit musical SPAMALOT from Tue 10 - Sat 14 October 2017.
Monty Python's SPAMALOT, lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, is a kind-of new musical with a book by Eric Idle and an entirely new score for the new production, (well, almost) created by Eric Idle and John Du Prez.

Check out a first look at the cast below!

South Staffs' production will feature newcomer to the company and to the area Jon Ranwell as King Arthur. John has worked professionally on stage and trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.

James Collins who works regularly with Fizzog Productions will play Patsy. Sisters Natasha Bennett-Ince and Lexie Bennett will share the role of Lady Of The Lake at alternate performances. Simon McGee will play Lancelot, Mike James returns to the company after a 30 year absence as Sir Robin and Chris Dowen plays Sir Galahad. Adam Starr will play Prince Herbert.

SPAMALOT tells the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and features fantastic tunes more magical than a Camelot convention, including He Is Not Dead Yet, Knights of the Round Table, Find Your Grail and of course the Nation's Favourite Comedy Song (Reader's Digest Poll 2010 - before it went bust), Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.

Alison Norton, chair of South Staffs Musical Theatre Company said: "Spamalot is a very brave choice of show for an amateur company, but we really want to offer every genre of theatre; from traditional musicals to outrageous comedies, to the new, progressive shows, in order to keep our audiences interested in our work and to appeal to all age groups. I would say come and watch Spamalot with a completely open mind. It is silly, slapstick and deliciously daft!" she laughed. "Spamalot will have you rolling in the aisles! And to quote a Python: "It's funnier than the Black Death!"

Tickets for SPAMALOT at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre are now on sale in person at the Box Office, by calling 01902 42 92 12 or online at grandtheatre.co.uk.
