Last night 12 May BILLY ELLIOT the Musical celebrated its 3rd Birthday in the West End, Director
Stephen Daldry and the London Company were joined on stage by the Broadway Billys at the Victoria Palace Theatre in a spectacular finale.
Layton Williams played the title role at the Birthday performance and was joined by the Broadway Billys - David Alvarez, Trent Kowalik and Kiril Kulish.
Elton John and
Lee Hall's multi award-winning BILLY ELLIOT the Musical, directed by
Stephen Daldry, opened at the Victoria Palace Theatre in May 2005 to great acclaim from both critics and public alike and has subsequently has been seen by over 2 million people worldwide. Recently over 250,000 new tickets went on sale for the London Production which is now booking until 11 April 2009. Since its world premiere 14 boys have performed the title role in London following in the footsteps of Jamie Bell who created the role on film.
Billy Elliot the Musical is produced in London by Working Title Films and Old Vic Productions plc.
