Burn the Floor, the international touring ballroom dance show that originated in London, will return this summer for a limited West End season at the Shaftesbury Theatre, beginning performances July 21 (prior to an official opening July 26) for a run through Sept. 4. The show recently played Broadway's Longacre Theater for a successful extended run in 2009-2010.

Burn the Floor is a blend of Latin and Ballroom dance and was first conceived as a special performance at Sir Elton John's 50th birthday celebrations in 1997. Two years later, the full show received its world premiere in the U.K. before going on to tour globally to over 30 countries. "The Broadway run of Burn the Floor was such a success, we know the London audiences will be excited to see this spectacular production" Terhune says.

The West End production will spotlight British television celebrities Brian Fontana and Ali Bastian from the U.K. dance series "Strictly Come Dancing," as special guest stars. The company features the talents of 20 award-winning international dancers from around the globe-Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Russia, Australia, Malaysia, Venezuela and the U.S. and includes Australian Ballroom and World Latin American champions.
