As BroadwayWorld previously reported, actor Paul Bhattacharjee was found dead at Splash Point Cliffs back in July, and his death has now been ruled a suicide. According to WhatsOnStage, after papers declaring bankruptcy came to his home, Bhattacharjee committed suicide the next day.

His partner Emma McKie said in a statement he was a "proud" man with a "darkness inside him that was irreparable", and that the bankruptcy papers were the last straw after a "life of major highs and lows"

According to the source, East Sussex coroner Alan Craze concluded: "There isn't scope at all in this case and therefore the conclusion of this inquest will be that Gautam Paul Bhattacharjee took his own life whilst the balance of his mind was disturbed... This was a huge tragedy for a lot of people."

Bhattacharjee was a highly respected actor, with stage credits including Inzamam Ahmed in EastEnders and appearances in the films Casino Royale, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Dirty Pretty Things.
