Patrick Marber is to continue his long-standing relationship with the Donmar Warehouse by making some most respectful additions and ornamentation to Arthur Wing Pinero's Comedietta, Trelawny of the Wells, to run from 15 February to 13 April 2013. The production will be directed by Joe Wright.

The Donmar Warehouse has previously premiered two of Patrick Marber's plays: After Miss Julie and Don Juan in Soho. His other stage plays include Dealer's Choice, Closer, Howard Katz and The Musicians. He has also written the screenplays for several films including Old Street, Closer, Asylum, Notes on a Scandal and Love You More.

The cast for Trelawny of the Wells includes: Jamie Beamish, Ron Cook, Aimée-Ffion Edwards, Susannah Fielding, Daniel Kaluuya, Daniel Mays, Fergal McElherron, Amy Morgan, Joshua Silver, Maggie Steed and Peter Wight.

Rose Trelawny is the brightest star in the firmament of the Wells, the theatre company that raised her from birth. But she's prepared to give it all up for the love of her stage-door suitor, aristocratic Arthur. His family are less convinced of her charms, however, and her joyful challenge to their dreary, snobby existence shocks them to their core.

Trelawny of the Wells is Pinero's love letter to the theatre. Joe Wright is one of our most exciting and visual film directors. This production is a celebration of the enchantment, the vivaciousness, the melodrama, the music and the irrepressible joy of the Victorian stage.

Arthur Wing Pinero (1855-1934) was an English actor, and later playwright and stage director. His principal works include The House in Order, The Second Mrs Tanqueray, The Notorious Mrs Ebbsmith, The Schoolmistresses, The Magistrate, Dandy Dick,The Princess and the Butterfly, The Gay Lord Quex, and Mind the Paint, Girl.

Joe Wright directs, marking his directorial debut for the stage. His television credits include Charles II: The Power & the Passion,Bodily Harm, Bob & Rose and Nature Boy; and for film, Anna Karenina, Hanna, The Soloist, Atonement and Pride and Prejudice.
