When I discussed this column with Cubbington Players, one of the things which I promised them was that it would be as unintrusive as I could make it. On that score, I think I have succeeded (or at least hope I have), but the last thing I wanted was to disrupt their final preparations. The last week before a performance is always extremely intensive, with a final rehearsal, technical rehearsal (where the actors work on stage, with lights, sound etc, for the first time), then a dress rehearsal and a second dress rehearsal in front of an invited audience, all in the space of six days. For people with full time jobs to do as well, this is very demanding. I have, therefore, kept well away until the opening night.

However, Fay Staton (who plays Janie Oliver) tweeted some photos of the final rehearsal on her Twitter account and has very kindly agreed that we can reproduce them here:
