Olivier Award Winner Lorna Want Will Star In New Musical GIRL IN A CRISIS Image

SimG Productions is proud to present GIRL IN A CRISIS - a new one-woman musical by Andrew Fisher, directed by Simon Greiff, that tells a painfully funny story about growing up ... or not. This brand new musical will premiere at the acclaimed Crazy Coqs, as part of the Live At Zédel Season, for two performances only on Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th November at 7pm, and will star Olivier Award winner Lorna Want.

Flic is in a permanent state of crisis. A single, out-of-work actress, she survives by waiting tables, going home in the evenings to her manipulative cat, Miss Fluffington, at weekends she attends the weddings of her smug friends alone, and worst of all dreads that she will soon turn thirty. Thirty! Insufferable. She is horrified to learn that her perfect younger sister is getting married. Weakling! Will she be able to overcome her reluctance to find a date, or even love by the time of the wedding...?

GIRL IN A CRISIS is a new, jazzy song-cycle, drawing you into a timeless world evoking Flic's nostalgia for old classic movies. The shows title song was shortlisted for the Stiles & Drewe New Song Prize at the Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year.

Andrew Fisher is a composer of unusual versatility writing film music, musical theatre, concert music, pop and jazz, and has worked on Emmy-winning and BAFTA, Emmy and Golden Globe nominated projects. As a musical theatre composer his projects include Billy Bow, The Weird Little World Of William Willow, and Jazzed Tales.

Lorna Want won the 2015 Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a musical for her performance as Cynthia Weil in Beautiful (Aldwych Theatre), and at the age of 15 starred as Juliet in Romeo & Juliet The Musical (Piccadilly Theatre). Other West End credits include Ariel Moore in Footloose (Novello Theatre), Mistress in Evita (Adelphi Theatre), Monteen in Parade (Donmar Warehouse), Luisa in The Fantasticks (Duchess Theatre), and Laura in Dreamboats and Petticoats (Playhouse Theatre).
