LOCKED UP Plays Final Performance This Saturday Image

Off West End nominated psychological thriller 'Locked Up' running at the Tristan Bates Theatre must close this Saturday, 28th July.

Directed by James McAndrew, this gripping, wryly humorous dark thriller continues to make audiences gasp. Writer Heather Simpkin rips the lid off the surveillance state and corruption producing an absorbing modern day Orwellian thriller...but can you keep the end a secret?

Co-stars Samuel Ranger and Conor Cook have received Off West End nominations in the Male Performance In A Play category and writer Heather Simpkin for Most Promising New Playwright.

£10 TICKETS ON FRIDAY 27TH JULY FOR THE 7:45 PM PERFORMANCE. Quote Promo Code: HEATWAVE10 online (see booking details below).

Two men are trapped in a confined space which they interpret as their cell. Since being taken against their will, the only world that exists for them is that cell and an enigmatic White Room where there are few clues to their immediate predicament...

Desperation grows as Declan (Samuel Ranger) and Topher (Conor Cook) try to find a way out and discover answers to their questions. They have no idea who has taken them or why. As the tension builds both characters reflect upon each other and their situation. Will they buckle under the strain of emotional endurance or can they remain rational enough to piece together the twists and turns of their absurd situation?

LOCKED UP is a powerful, slickly written story that explores trust, betrayal and comradeship in times of trouble. It directly engages with the current political and social landscape whilst addressing the nature of integrity and honesty in everyone, from the most powerful to the voiceless and vulnerable in society.

Poignant, wryly humorous and scarily relevant. Bold, punchy and powerful new writing. A fascinating must see new play.
