The producers of the West End hit Spamalot, are offering free entry to all Knights of the Realm - and Dames - following the announcement of this year's New Year's Honours List.

But anyone who isn't a real bona fide Knight can still get their free ticket just by dressing up as a Knight and arriving at least one hour before curtain up at The Playhouse Theatre to ensure that they will get to see the show completely free of charge.

With 2012 being such a great year for Britain, thanks to The Olympics and The Diamond Jubilee, Spamalot hopes to keep the happiness flowing well into 2013 by offering free tickets to anyone from the New Year's Honours List and anybody else who can prove that they are a Knight of the Realm (or a Dame) from previous years' Honours List.

The hit comedy musical, based on the cult film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, comes after a critically acclaimed run at the Harold Pinter Theatre this summer. The run at The Playhouse Theatre features a new cast, including TV's Stephen Tompkinson as King Arthur. The new 2012 show has been reworked and - if at all possible - is even funnier than the original.

But don't be fooled; being a Knight is a serious business and those looking to bag themselves a free ticket must prove their mettle by including certain knightly articles as part of their costume. To secure free entry, budding Knights of the Round Table must don at least four of the following: a helmet, a hood, chainmail, armour, a tunic, a tabard, a cape, gauntlets or a shield. Although if you're feeling creative, management are keen to point out that other Spamalot style costumes will also be considered and judged on their individual merit*.

Free tickets are only available at the box office on the day and are subject to availability.
