A new writers' platform, Untitled, has launched today with their first free writers' salon on Thursday 25th April at The Curtain in London.
Founded by writer Ollie Charles and events producer Nicola Lampard, Untitled aims to promote and nurture underrepresented writers through a series of reading events with a live audience, all in a safe and intimate space.
Untitled is seeking impassioned storytellers from a whole variety of backgrounds including, but not exclusive to, socio-economically marginalised writers, LGBTQ+ and BAME communities, as well as writers with a disability.
Starting with a series of Untitled: Writers' Salons, the duo hope to be able to run writers' workshops and further events over the next twelve months.
Ollie Charles, who is working on his first novel, has said on Untitled: "Writers share stories about themselves, their communities and almost everything else but when it comes to seeking diversity throughout the arts, we are hoping that Untitled will be a step in the right direction to showcase some of the
amazing talent out there, which has traditionally found getting into the industry more difficult."
Co-founder, Nicola Lampard has added: "Some of the best writing that I've encountered in the last few years has been from those who have had to get their work out to the public via less traditional avenues. Work is being done to create more opportunities and we hope that Untitled will become another approach to create a space for these writers."
The first Untitled: Writers' Salon will take place on Thursday 25th April at The Curtain, where ten writers will be sharing their work in front of a live audience. Tickets are free and can be secured here: http://bit.ly/Untitled1SpreadTheWord
Untitled events will also be supporting akt, working for safe homes and better futures for LGBTQ+ young people.
