On March 24th 2016 The Hippodrome are excited to be introducing an all new improv Supergroup, featuring the mega-talents of Josie Lawrence (Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Comedy Store Players), Cariad Lloyd (Austentatious), Pippa Evans & Ruth Bratt (Showstopper!). A fabulous night of improvised comedy and song, accompanied on piano by Yshani Perinpanayagam. Join us for a unique show based entirely on your suggestions!

Josie Lawrence is one of Britain's best loved actresses and comediennes. She first became a household name in WHO'S LINE IS IT ANYWAY? for Channel 4, and is a founder member of The Comedy Store Players with whom she still performs.

On stage, she won the Peggy Ashcforft Award for TAMING OF THE SHREW at RSC, starred as Benedick in the all-female MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING at the Globe, and has starred as Anna in THE KING & I at the London Palladium and ACORN ANTIQUES THE MUSICAL with Victoria Wood at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket also appears in Frozen by Byrony Lavery at the National and won Manchester Evening News Best Actress award for Beatrice in Much Ado at Manchester Royal Exchange.

On screen, she had her own Channel 4 series JOSIE, and was critically acclaimed in OUTSIDE EDGE opposite Timothy Spall and Brenda Blethyn. Some of her other much loved star vehicles have included ENCHANTED APRIL and JONATHAN CREEK. More recently she appears in Bonobo with James Norton and played Phoebe Huntley in THE GOOD GUIDE TO PARENTING with Peter Davidson, Manda Best in EASTENDERS, and ROBIN HOOD (BBC), Mrs Jiniwin in THE OLD CURIOSITY SHOP (ITV) and appeared in SKINS opposite Peter Capaldi.

On radio, Josie is a BBC Radio 4 regular, and appears on JUST A MINUTE, Thanks A Lot Milton Jones and the award winning Reluctant Persuaders with Nigel Havers.
