CALENDAR GIRLS, the new stage play by Tim Firth, adapted from his own screenplay for the 2003 film, will have a new all-star cast from Tuesday 28 July.
Gemma Atkinson (Hollyoaks and I'm a Celebrity... Get me out of Here!) will play ‘Elaine', Jill Baker (Mike Leigh's Goose-pimples) will play ‘Annie - Miss February', June Brown (BAFTA nominee for ‘Dot Cotton' in EastEnders) will play ‘Jessie - Miss January', Richenda Carey (Mike Leigh's Nuts in May) will play ‘Marie', Sara Crowe (starred opposite Joan Collins in Private Lives) will play ‘Ruth - Miss November', Anita Dobson will play ‘Chris - Miss October', Jill Halfpenny (winner of Strictly Come Dancing and star of Waterloo Road) will play ‘Cora - Miss July', and Jerry Hall will play ‘Celia - Miss September'. Jack Ryder will play the photographer ‘Lawrence'. Other parts will be cast and announced shortly.
The new cast will play from 28 July to 17 October.
CALENDAR GIRLS is directed by Hamish McColl, who won an Olivier Award for writing and performing The Play What I Wrote in the West End. CALENDAR GIRLS has a set by Robert Jones, with lighting by Malcolm Rippeth, costumes by Emma Williams and music by Steve Parry.
