The Cockpit Theatre in Marylebone has a reputation for hosting world premieres of exciting new musicals - think of multi-award nominated Streets and Another Way from Interval Productions among others - and 2017 doesn't disappoint! LOVESTUCK, a new British musical, opens tonight and will run until Sunday 30 July.

Produced by Curious Tales Theatre Company and written by Adam Wollerton, with music and lyrics from PJ Nielsen, the story follows Charlie as he enters the unfamiliar world of University. Stuck in love with finding comfort in himself, he meets the rebellious Lily and nerdy Jake and forms a wonderful friendship. Follow the trio as they experience the ups and downs of university life involving sexuality, drugs and video games.

The show will be directed by writer Adam Wollerton (who directed Social Notwork at the Lion and Unicorn last year), with musical direction by Jake Few. The cast includes newcomer Matthew Lee as Charlie, Kathryn Kitchener as Lily and Luke de Belder as Jake, the central trio of friends. Also appearing are Bryn Cash, Samuel Peters, Kelly Renders, Chris Edwards and Malcolm Jeffries.

Curious Tales is a new independent theatre company founded by Writer and Director Adam Wollerton and Composer and Lyricist, PJ Nielsen. Based in London, the small company have already stuck to their ambition of supporting and developing new musical theatre talent, recently hosting a 'Showcase' evening at The Sound Lounge, Tooting, presenting a great variety of new writing and new performers. It is a young company with ambitious aims; so far so good!

Curious Tales' first production is three years in the making. LoveStuck first began life as a novel, we are told, but creator Adam Wollerton then enlisted the help of lyricist and composer Nielsen to help it find its truer expression as a musical. With an honest look at gay love affairs as well as things that truly affect young people on the cusp of adulthood, it promises to be exciting.

A 'LoveStuck' is that one thing you can't live without... what's yours? Head to the Cockpit this week to find out!
