NEWSROUND: Stars Come Together For A Snappy Cabaret

An exciting cabaret is scheduled at the Pigalle Club in Picadilly on Sunday September 20. Snappy Title, compered by Stiles and Drewe, features a vast array of West End names and will showcase a series of songs from new musicals. The cast list currently includes Julie Atherton, Lucy May Barker, Cassidy Janson and Sabrina Aloueche, amongst others.

In celebration of its 15th birthday a revival of Stephen Sondheims acclaimed musical Into The Woods will take place from September 17 to Octoner 17 at The Landor Theatre. In the role of the witch will be Broadway star Lori Hayley Fox, with Leo Andrew returning to the theatre in the role of The Baker.

A new production of JM Barrie's Peter Pan will be performed in the specially commissioned Neverland Pavilion in the historic Kensington Gardens next summer from May 26 to August 31. The cast will include Ciaran Kellgren as Peter Pan, Abby Ford as Wendy Darling, Johnathan Hyde as Captain Hook and will be directed by Ben Harrison.

What's On Stage have reported that AlEd Jones and Adam Cooper will star in the stage version of the film White Christmas, alongside Roy Dotrice, Suzanne Shaw, Rachel Stanley and Louise Plowright. In fact, Adam told us about the show when he chatted to Carrie in June. It will play at the Theatre Royal Plymouth followed by The Lowry in Manchester from Novermber to January.

The UK and European premiere of First Lady Suite, the award winning off-Broadway musical by Michael John LaChiusa, is to run at London's Union Theatre. Presented by Take Note Theatre it will take place between September 29 and October 17.

The Tobacco Merchant's Lawyer, written by Iain Heggie, opens at the Finborough Theatre on September 29 for a limited run following a huge sell-out success in Scotland on tour and in Glasgow.

Avocado by Brunstetter and Bevan finished its limited run at the King's Head Theatre, with short plays The Curse of Elizabeth Faulkner and The Revenge Of Anubis, both written by Tim Downie closing at the theatre last night.

Finally, two Scottish actors have won the top prizes for Acting Excelllence at the Fringe Festival. Cora Bissett won Best Actress for her turn in Midsummer (A Play With Songs), while the Best Actor award went to Billy Mack in The Sound Of My Voice.
