It has been reported that Michael Sheen is to return to the West End to star in Inadmissable Evidence due to have a 4-month run next year. He said to be taking on the role of William Maitland, a middle-aged solicitor who has come to hate his life.
New photos have been released of the cast of Prick Up Your Ears, which will run at the Comedy Theatre from September 17 through to December 6. The play, set in 1992 and sees two RADA graduates and aspiring playwrights try to forge their rightful place to the centre of London's literay scene, stars Matt Lucas, Joe Orton and Gwen Taylor.
An extra matinee showing of Mamma Mia! took place today at 3:00pm in honour of Kids Week in London. For each ticket bought by an adult, a child was able to watch the show for free. The cast is currently headed by Sally Ann Triplett as Donna Sheridan and BBC I'd Do Anything finalist Niamh Perry as her daughter Sophie.
Chess In Concert, staged at The Royal Albert Hall last year, is going to be screened in 27 cinemas across the country from September 5-10. The concert that starred Idina Menzel, Kerry Ellis, Adam Pascal, Josh Groban and Marti Pellow is to be presented by More2Screen and Warner Music International.
Avocado continues to run at the Kings Head Theatre until August 29. The production, a fusion between New York and London has been created by Bekah Brunstetter and Lily Bevan and is billed as a collection of humourous encounters. Also continuing to run at the theatre until August 30 are two short plays The Curse of Elizabeth Faulkner and The Revenge of Anubis, wirtten by Tim Downie and directed by Anthony Coleridge. This is to be followed by the one day event An Exploration of Oneness, which will include a performance an inspirational talk, music and a performance of The Prince of Milton Keys about a sucessful businessman who appears to have everything. The next productions to run at the theatre has been announced as The Duchess of Malfi, written by Webster which starts its run on September 2 ending September 27.
