This weekend's big news is that after his West End debut in Chicago as Billy Flynn, Jerry Springer will play the same role on Broadway later this month before going on tour with the show.

This side of the pond, full casting has been announced for the Donmar Warehouse's production of Pedro Calderon de la Barca's Life Is A Dream, on from 8th October until the 28th November. The story follows Segismundo, who is condemned to a secret world high in the mountains for all eternity, and who dreams of a life he cannot have. The cast will feature Rupert Evans as Astolfo, Kate Fleetwood as Rosaura, Lloyd Hutchinson as Clarion and David Horovitch as Clotaldo.

Meanwhile, West End casts are taking advantage of the decent weather to zoom off on quick holidays. Understudy Kieran Jae will replace Stephen Ashfield as Bob Gaudio in Jersey Boys from today until 22nd August, while Oliver!'s Jodie Prenger is away from today until Wednesday.

Les Mis also sees two of its cast take a brief break - Simon Shorten replaces JoNathan Williams as Jean Valjean (just for today, mind), while Jeff Nicholson will tackle Javert until Saturday in place of Earl Carpenter. Tony Sheldon also returns to Priscilla, Queen of the Desert today after a week's holiday.

And don't forget - if you were lucky enough to win a piece of West End history in the Too Close To The Sun auction, you must pick it up today, whether it was the giant resin bull skull or the famed wicker chair.
