The event details: "John Barrowman might be best known as Doctor Who's bisexual, time-traveling Captain Jack, but his background is pure music theatre, and he's the perfect man to host this glitzy tribute to the composer and lyricist Jerry Herman. The musical stars lining up to pay homage to the man who wrote the Broadway smashes Hello, Dolly! and La Cage aux Folles include the singers Maria Friedman, Debbie Gravitte and Clarke Peters, the composer-conductor Donald Pippin, and – via the magic of a satellite link-up – the 76-year-old Herman himself. They're all supported by the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Larry Blank."
