Celebrated for their athletic performances rooted in dance, theatre, circus, acrobatics and film, the award-winning Motionhouse, under the helm of artistic director and choreographer Kevin Finnan MBE, announces its Broken 2016 tour from28 January - 9 April.

Broken is back by popular demand - on its fourth tour - with seven venues programming return visits during the ten-venue 2016 tour. Opening in Lörrach, Germany and concluding in London with a West End run at Sadler's Wells' Peacock Theatre,Broken is a great family night out for audiences of all ages and dance experience.

In true Motionhouse style, Broken erupts onto the stage in an adrenaline filled spectacle of multi-media. A company of six outstanding professional dancers bring Broken to life with impressive contact work and awe-inspiring acrobatics. A gripping narrative examines our precarious relationship with planet Earth as performers meld with the revolutionary set design by Simon Dormon and ground-breaking digital imagery by Logela Multimedia.

In Broken, the performers hang in suspense, scramble to safety and negotiate the cracks and craters of an ever-changing world of illusions where nothing is quite as it seems. With fast-paced, gripping and exhilarating movement, to an original score by Sophy Smith & Tim Dickinson, Broken promises to take audiences on a journey into the earth as they have never seen it before.

Kevin Finnan, Motionhouse's artistic director, and choreographer and movement director for the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, said: "Our aim at Motionhouse is to produce exciting, accessible and enjoyable shows- we want our audiences to be stimulated and moved by our work. We explore ways to create a 4-D spectacle using choreography, digital imagery, sound and lighting. Broken is a dance theatre work and a blockbuster movie rolled into one great night out."

Broken is a must-see for dance, circus and theatre lovers, but also for those interested in art, digital imagery, motion graphics and graphic design.

Motionhouse is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. Broken premiered in 2013 and was originally commissioned by Warwick Arts Centre, Watford Palace Theatre, The Grand Theatre Blackpool, mac birmingham and Swindon Dance.
