Michael Xavier To Host Star-studded Charity Christmas Concert In Covent Garden

Some of the biggest stars of London's theatre scene will perform at what could be the most Christmassy concert in the capital this December, as West End and Broadway star Michael Xavier hosts Christmas with the Stars, accompanied by the students of the MX Masterclass.

The concert, which is giving all proceeds to Children with Cancer UK, will be held at the Actors' Church (St Paul's) in the heart of Covent Garden.

Michael Xavier will be joined by a stellar line-up that includes:

· Lucy Briers (Show Boat / Wolf Hall)

· Ashley Campbell (Sunny Afternoon / Company)

· Sam Edwards (LES MISERABLES / Ghost)

· Rob Houchen (Eugenius / LES MISERABLES)

· Tyrone Huntley (Dreamgirls / Jesus Christ Superstar)

· Emma Kingston (In the Heights / Evita)

· Rebecca Lock (Heathers / Mamma Mia!)

· Emily Tierney (Wicked / Eugenius)

· Rebecca Trehearn (Show Boat / Sweet Charity)

· Musical Director - Colin Billing

They will be supported by the MXM choir - a group of talented students at the national-award-winning London performing arts school, amongst them young professional performers who have already starred in West End shows such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Annie and LES MISERABLES.

Michael says: "This is a Christmas concert not to be missed! I'm extremely grateful to these wonderful theatre stars who are giving their time to share their talent and raise money for a very important and worthwhile charity. They are all so in demand and busy, starring in hit west end shows so it's incredibly generous of them to sing in our concert. It will be a magical start to Christmas."

MXM trains aspiring musical theatre performers from age 10 - 25 years, and is known for attracting top names in the West End to give masterclasses, and giving its students unrivalled performing opportunities. Students travel from as far away as Portugal, Guernsey and Glasgow to attend MXM on Sundays at the Umbrella Rooms, Shaftesbury Avenue.

MXM students recently performed live at The Royal Albert Hall in October in The Best of the West End, alongside such household names as Ruthie Henshall, Ben Forster, Mazz Murray, Russell Watson - and Michael Xavier himself.

Earlier this year, MXM won a national award and has recently launched a new dance school - MX Dance.

The next audition day for MXM will be in the new year - at which candidates will be given a special one-to-one masterclass with Michael Xavier himself.

Michael Xavier has been twice nominated for an Olivier Award, and has starred in many West End musicals and plays. He is soon to be seen on our television screens as Dr Steph Belcombe in Sally Wainwright's Gentleman Jack for BBC/HBO. And he is currently filming the role of secret agent Christopher Miles in the NBC US television series The Blacklist starring James Spader.

· Emily Carey, 15, (The Sound of Music at Regents Park Open Air Theatre, Grace in TV 's Casualty, as well as appearing in the movie Wonder Woman)

- Tillie Murray, 13, (Marta in the Sound of Music UK tour)

- Oscar, Max, Toby, Felix & Harry - the members of the boy band Bring it North (Britain's Got Talent).
