The Menier Chocolate Factory will present the UK première of Jonathan Tolins' critically-acclaimed, smash-hit comedy Buyer & Cellar which opens March, 19, 2015, with previews beginning March, 12, 2015, at the Menier Chocolate Factory (53 Southwark Street, London). Buyer & Cellar will play a strictly limited engagement through May, 2, 2015.

Buyer & Cellar is an outrageous new comedy about the oddest of odd jobs - an unemployed Los Angeles actor going to work in Barbra Streisand's Malibu basement.

The production reunites the team behind the sold-out, award-winning New York run - Stephen Brackett directs Michael Urie as Alex More. Urie is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Marc St James in "Ugly Betty," and is also currently appearing in the hit comedy "Modern Family." For originating the role at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, Urie received the Drama Desk Award, Clarence Derwent Award, and nominations for the Drama League and Outer Critics' Circle awards.

Buyer & Cellar had its world premiere in April 2013 at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, where it received rave reviews and played a sold-out, extended run before transferring to New York's Barrow Street Theatre where it opened June 24, 2013. After a record-breaking 466 performances at the Barrow Street Theatre, Buyer & Cellar played its final performance in New York on July 27, 2014. Urie then toured the United States in Buyer & Cellar playing Boston, Chicago, Dallas and Washington, D.C.

Buyer & Cellar swept the Best of 2013 Theater lists including The New York Times, Associated Press, The Hollywood Reporter, New York Post, New York Daily News, NPR, Newsday, The Huffington Post, AM New York, The New York Observer, The Advocate, The Daily Beast, Entertainment Weekly, NBC New York, Playbill, Towleroad, Gay City News and Time Out New York. Buyer & Cellar won the Drama Desk Award, Lucille Lortel Award and Actors' Equity Foundation's Clarence Derwent Award.
