The Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre (SECC) has presented a commemorative Champion award to Stage Entertainment.
The "Champion Awards" are part of the SECC's 25th anniversary celebrations awarded throughout 2010 as part of the venue's wish to acknowledge the contributions of key people and organisations over the last 25 years.
The award was received on behalf of Stage Entertainment by Michael Ball who is currently reprising his role of Edna Turnblad in "Hairspray" at the venue's Clyde Auditorium. Presenting the award, John Sharkey, Chief Executive of the SECC said:
"This award recognises the importance of theatre and special events and the integral part they have played in our success to date.
Stage Entertainment has contributed hugely to this area of our business and is a very worthy recipient of this award.
Bill Taylor, CEO of Stage Entertainment UK & USA said:
"Stage Entertainment has enjoyed great success at the SECC with shows including High School Musical, Hairspray and Strictly Come Dancing Live. It is great to work with such a versatile and successful venue and we are proud to accept this award at this important milestone in the venue's history. We look forward to continuing to work with the team at the SECC as we bring more shows to Glasgow in the future".
