Award-winning actress Margaret Tyzack has received a CBE in the New Year Honours List for services to drama.

She won the Olivier Award for best actress for her performance in The Chalk Garden earlier this year, to add to the one she won in 1982 for her work in Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf? She has also won a Tony Award and a Critics' Circle Award.
