On May 14, 2012 independent label SimG Records is set to release the Original Cast Recording of A Song Cycle For Soho, a project created for Mercury Musical Developments members to practice their song writing skills, followed by a showcase presented at Soho Theatre during Feb/March 2012.
With a book by Andrew Brinded, musical direction from Tony Award Winner Sarah Travis with direction by Simon Greiff (who also co-created the project); the cast album features 16 original songs from 24 writers.
These include award winners Stiles & Drewe, Stuart Matthew Price, Tim Sutton and Richard Thomas, to the next generation of writers; Brunger & Cleary and Barnaby Race, to established writers Craig Adams, Alexander S. Bermange, Hamilton & Pearse, Dougal Irvine and many more.
Four leading West End actors perform all musical numbers; Michael Cantwell (Les Miserables), James Gillan (Wicked), Claire Moore (London Road) and Niamh Perry (Love Never Dies).
Proceeds from sales go directly to Mercury Musical Developments to help fund future projects.
