Following their hugely successful show the entirely improvised Hard Hearted Hannah and Other Stories (Lyric Spring 08) Cartoon de Salvo are back in Hammersmith with their new site-specific show Pub Rock. This unique rock ‘n' roll theatre event is set in a local Hammersmith boozer - the Hop Poles Pub across the road from the Lyric. Pub Rock will play its final show on February 20.

For twenty years, One Trick Pony have been rockin' all over the UK, giving audiences exactly what they want. So what makes tonight different? Leaps in the dark and guilty pleasures are on the set-list in this intimate epic about a musician who can cover any track, except the track of his own tears.

Founded in 1997, Cartoon de Salvo is one of the country's most respected theatre companies. Their cocktail of script-defying improvisation, live music and exceptional storytelling has won critical acclaim and a devoted following. On their quest to mess with the live theatre experience, the Salvos make theatre that wears its heart on its sleeve, that likes an adventure, and that never forgets that the audience is the number one reason for putting on the show.

‘Our fake band One Trick Pony have performed incognito in pubs, playing a function band repertoire - the songs that make weddings so good. At the same time we've been asking audiences what ‘rock n' roll' means to them. And it's great to be back at the Lyric following the success of Hard Hearted Hannah.'

Alex Murdoch, Artistic Director, Cartoon de Salvo
