According to the Daily Mail, Lisa Dillon is set to portray the title character in Tom Stoppard's HAPGOOD at the Hampstead Theatre this winter.

Also newly announced in the cast are Tim McMullan, Alec Newman, Gerald Kyd, Joe Evans, Edward Hancock and Gary Beadle.

Dillon last appeared in the RSC's THE ROARING GIRL, as well as their touring production of THE TAMING OF THE SHREW. Among her more recent theatre credits are THE KNOT OF THE HEART and WHEN THE RAIN STOPS FALLING at the Almeida, A FLEW IN HER EAR at the Old Vic, UNDER THE BLUE SKY in the West End, PRESENT LAUGHTER and THE HOUR WE KNEW NOTHING OF EACH OTHER at the National, and THE CHERRY ORCHARD and AS YOU LIKE IT at the Crucible.

Drected by Howard Davies, HAPGOOD begins previews Friday 4 December 2015 for an opening Wednesday 9 December at 7pm. The show will run through 16 January 2016.

HAPGOOD is described as: "London 1988. The Cold War is approaching its endgame and somebody in spymaster Elizabeth HAPGOOD's network is leaking secrets. Is her star Double Agent a Triple? The trap she sets becomes a hall of mirrors in which betrayal is personal and treachery a trick of the light."
