LIFE'S TOO SHORT co-stars Les Dennis and Warwick Davis will soon reuinte on the West End.
It's been confirmed that the duo will step into the roles of 'King Arthur' and 'Patsy' in SPAMALOT, the musical comedy 'lovingly ripped' off of the 1975 film MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL, currently running at the Playhouse Theatre.
Joe Pasquale will depart the production, and Dennis will step in to the role beginning this week, 3 August. Davis will join him on 23 September.
"As a kid I was always a massive fan of Monty Python so when Spamalot came to town I thought 'I'd really love to be in that,'" Dennis said. "And now I'm excited that I'm actually not just in it, but playing the lead role. I'm really looking forward to always looking on the bright side of life."
Spamalot tells the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and features a bevy (or possibly a brace) of beautiful show girls, witch burnings (cancelled due to health and safety) not to mention cows, killer rabbits and French people. The show features fantastic tunes more magical than a Camelot convention, including He Is Not Dead Yet, Knights of the Round Table, Find Your Grail and of course the Nation's Favourite Comedy Song (Reader's Digest Poll 2010 - before it went bust) Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.
Acknowledged as one of Britain's most popular entertainers as well as being well-known to TV viewers through ITV game show Family Fortunes, Dennis has a long list of theatre, film and television credits to his name. He joins the cast of Drowning on Dry Land following numerous West End and touring appearances including Chicago (West End), Me and My Girl (West End), Hairspray (UK Tour) and High School Musical 2 (UK Tour). Other theatre credits include: When We Are Married (West Yorkshire Playhouse), The Servant of Two Masters (New Theatre, Cardiff), Art (National Tour) and Neville's Island (Birmingham Rep).
Davis has previously appeared in such films as Jack the Giant Slayer, the Harry Potter series, and more.
