Breast Cancer Campaign and the cast of hit West End musical Legally Blonde have teamed up ahead of this month's wear it pink day.

A donation of £2 a ticket for shows in the week of 24 to 28 October (October half-term) will be donated to Breast Cancer Campaign. The Savoy Theatre will also be holding bucket collections during and after the shows.

Throughout the week the Savoy Theatre's staff and the musical's stars will be encouraging everyone to take part in Breast Cancer Campaign's biggest, pinkest fundraising event, wear it pink.

Carley Stenson, currently playing Elle Woods in the hit West End musical, Legally Blonde, said: ‘I am delighted to support wear it pink for Breast Cancer Campaign. Wearing pink is a big part of my role as Elle Woods and I love dressing up in all of her bright pink outfits! We are encouraging everyone who comes to see the show in the week of 24 to 28 October to dress up in pink and support Breast Cancer Campaign. No matter how pink you decide to go your donation will help raise money for the charity to continue researching the cure for breast cancer.'

As well as theatre-goers, businesses, schools, colleges, and individuals throughout the country are encouraged to wear it pink on October 28 and donate £2 each to fund Campaign's innovative world-class breast cancer research.

Last year around hundreds of thousands took part in wear it pink raising a staggering £2.4 million for breast cancer research to help improve survival rates for the 48,000 people still being diagnosed every year.

Rebecca Guy, wear it pink Events Manager said; "Whether you discretely wear pink socks or turn up to work in a tutu, your £2 donation for wearing pink will help us to make this wear it pink day the pinkest yet! There is a serious reason for wearing it pink on Friday 28 October. One in eight women is diagnosed with breast cancer every year and wear it pink helps to fund vital research into a disease which affects so many."
