LAMDA MA Graduating Students Will Present Final Productions ImageLAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) present the final productions of its graduating MA students. Six upcoming directors will present a season of six plays from 23 August to 7 September, showcasing the work of students on the MA Directing course. MA Classical Acting graduates will perform the Shakespeare Season, running from 14 to 19 September.

The MA Directing season will open with two productions in The Carne Studio Theatre. Jorge Robinet will direct powerful, dystopian drama The Cut, written by Mark Ravenhill. Running alongside will be Out Of Love, directed by Elizabeth Benbow. Elinor Cook's tale of friendship, love and rivalry follows two friends who find themselves in drastically different worlds. These will be followed by Gregory Burke's The Straits directed by Sibylla Archdale Kalid, which follows four teenagers struggling to find their place as the Falklands War encroaches into their lives. Laura Jayne Bateman will direct To See Ourselves, written by E.M. Delafield. Unseen since 1952, the play confronts love, identity and gender relations with a frank and modern pulse. The Linbury Studio will host Yellow Moon, written by David Greig and directed by Woolim Kim, which tells a fast-paced modern Bonnie and Clyde tale of two teenagers on the run. Noa Wagner will direct Love Steals Us From Loneliness, written by award-winning playwright Gary Owen.

The MA Directing course is a thorough, practice-based vocational training for students with great potential as theatre directors and makers. The course is based on LAMDA's core ensemble values and is designed to support the development of each unique student director. Previous students on the MA Directing course have gone on to illustrious careers within the industry including Ned Bennett, Rebecca Frecknall, Lisa Spirling and Tinuke Craig.

The MA Classical Acting graduates will stage the Shakespeare Season in The Sainsbury Theatre. Robert Price directs Troilus and Cressida, which tells a tragic love story pursued in the midst of a pointless war. Richard II directed by Marieke Audsley, chronicles the downfall of an heirless king at a time when the ageing and childless Elizabeth I made royal succession a significant concern.

The intensive MA Classical Acting course is designed for international actors and encourages growth through British conservatoire training, prioritising ensemble work. Graduates from the course include John Lithgow (Churchill, The Crown), Dana Ivey (The Help), Donald Sutherland (The Hunger Games, Pride and Prejudice) and Stacy Keach (Prison Break).

As part of LAMDA's mission to offer access to the dramatic arts, residents of the Hammersmith & Fulham borough will receive half price tickets. Concessions will also be available to under 18's, over 65's, schools, students and those in receipt of Jobseeker's Allowance.
