West End stars Kerry Ellis and Louise Dearman show off powerhouse vocals on their new single, Let Me Be Your Star, ahead of their first ever concert together next month. The song was originally written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman for the first episode of the musical TV series Smash and was performed by characters Karen Cartwright (Katharine McPhee) and Ivy Lynn (Megan Hilty) as they each prepare to audition for the lead role of Marilyn in the fictional musical Bombshell.

Far from fighting over a starring role, these two West End bombshells are coming together for the first time since they both finished their training at Laine Theatre Arts in 1998, to perform in Kerry Ellis and Louise Dearman Live In Concert...Together at the Prince Edward Theatre on September 27th. The single, released by Kerry and Louise today was recorded during early preparations for the forthcoming concert and gives the first clue to their much anticipated set list.

Kerry and Louise have known each other for nearly 20 years and between them have played nearly every iconic leading female role including Elphaba in Wicked, Nancy in Oliver, Eva Peron in Evita, Grizabella in Cats since leaving college. As the song says, "The drama, the laughter, the tears just like pearls, well, they're all in this girl's repertoire" and the concert promises a magical evening of iconic duets sung by two of the best leading ladies the West End has ever seen.

Talking about the single, Kerry Ellis said, "Recording Let me be your star was the perfect way to kickstart our preparations for the concert. It's a dream of a song and a joy to sing it with Louise!" Louise added, "I just love this song and hope everyone else will too. I can't wait to perform it live on the Prince Edward stage. It's going to be a very special evening!"

Let me be your star was produced by Ben Robbins and is now available to download at kerryandlouise.com
