Kinky Boots, the winner of every major Best Musical award, is proud to announce that it will be supporting the mental health awareness campaign Heads Together, an initiative spearheaded by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex. Heads Together combines a campaign to change the conversation on mental health with fundraising for a series of innovative new mental health services to help people have conversations about mental health wherever they are, and whenever they need to.
Cyndi Lauper, the show's Tony® and Grammy® Award-winning songwriter is hosting a gala performance of Kinky Boots on Tuesday 29 May 2018 in aid of Heads Together.
Kinky Boots, which in September celebrates its 3rd anniversary and will embark on an extensive tour of the UK and Ireland, will be fundraising for Heads Together in multiple ways, including the option of donating on the Kinky Boots website and through bucket collections at the Adelphi theatre.
Cyndi Lauper said:
'I am so proud that Kinky Boots will be supporting the Heads Together campaign. We should all be free to talk about how we're feeling - too often people are afraid to talk about their mental health. It's time to change this. Kinky Boots is a show which advocates acceptance; it teaches us to celebrate our differences and accept each other for who we are. Together, we can create a network of love and support for each other - to be open and kind and show that help is available to anyone seeking mental health support.'
