The annual London theatre initiative KIDS WEEK began today and announced it would be extending until 7 September 2016 to mark the end of school summer holidays. With over 55,000 tickets available, you can book free tickets for London's biggest shows including, The Railway Children, Jersey Boys and Wicked.

Now in its 19th year, KIDS WEEK encourages young people to experience the magic of Live Theatre. During Kids Week one child aged 16 or under can go free to a wide range of participating shows when accompanied by an adult paying full price. In addition two extra children can go for half price and there are no booking, postage or transaction fees.

Kids Week is not just about the shows. Children can also take part in free activities organised by the shows as part of a Show & Activity Package, or attend one of the stand-alone events at an iconic London theatre. From choreography workshops to puppet demonstrations, there is something for children of all ages. Kids can go behind the scenes of a theatrical phenomenon at 1984 and meet the cast while aspiring fashionistas can enjoy a Kinky Boots Q&A with famed shoe designer Lucy Choi as well as the opportunity to design their very own boots under her expert tuition.

Emma De Souza, founder of Kids Week, said:
We are delighted to announce that Kids Week 2016 will be extending for one more week. Thanks to the support of our producers, even more families will be able to experience the finest theatre London has to offer this summer"

Kenny Wax, producer of The Gruffalo, The Play That Goes Wrong, The Comedy About A Bank Robbery and The Tiger Who Came To Tea said:
"The 'kids go free' initiative is a wonderful way to encourage parents to bring their children into the West End during the month of August. In fact, it's the popularity of Kids Week that encourages us to bring new family shows into the West End each year during the summer months."

Additionally, Kids Week ticket holders will be able to take advantage of a number of Kids Go Free deals on dining, tours and workshops. More information can be found on the Kids Week website.

Tickets for Kids Week are available at www.kidsweek.co.uk or via the dedicated ticket hotline 0844 995 9662 (calls cost 7p/min plus your telephone company's network access charge).
