Julie Goodyear Makes Stage Debut in West End's CALENDAR GIRLS

Julie Goodyear will make her London and legit stage debut in the smash-hit West End play "CALENDAR GIRLS" starring as ‘Cora - Miss July'. A household name, Julie became a national treasure after starring as ‘Bet Lynch' in "Coronation Street" for 25 years. Kelly Brook will bare all as ‘Celia - Miss September'. Janie Dee, triple ‘Best Actress' award-winner for Alan Ayckbourn's "Comic Potential", will play ‘Annie - Miss February'. Helen Lederer, one of Britian's best-known comediennes, will play ‘Marie', leader of the Yorkshire branch of the WI. Debbie Chazen, best-known as a regular in "Doctor Who" and as the star of "TittyTittyBangBang" on BBC3, will play ‘Ruth'. Arabella Weir, star of "The Fast Show" and author of international best-seller "Does My Bum Look Big in This?", will play ‘Chris - Miss October'. Jan Leeming will play ‘Lady Cravenshire'. Rob James Collier, multi award-winner for ‘Sexiest Male' as ‘Liam Connor' in "Coronation Street", will make his London stage debut as the photographer ‘Lawrence'.

The new cast will play at the Noël Coward Theatre for ten weeks only from 3 November - 9 January, at which point "CALENDAR GIRLS" will move theatres. These details will be announced shortly.

"CALENDAR GIRLS", which has broken all box office records at the Noël Coward Theatre in London with takings of well over £190,000 gross per week, will continue to play with its current cast until 31 October.

"CALENDAR GIRLS", which donates their normal £1.50 booking fee on each ticket sold to Leukaemia Research, has now raised in excess of £150,000 for the fund by this means together with a percentage of merchandise sales and royalties. The play, which opened at the Noël Coward Theatre on 4 April this year, will continue to raise money for the fund as long as the show plays in the West End.

"CALENDAR GIRLS", the new stage play by Tim Firth adapted from the screenplay he wrote for the 2003 film, is continuing to do smash hit business. "CALENDAR GIRLS" is directed by Hamish McColl, who won an Olivier Award for writing and performing "The Play What I Wrote" in the West End. "CALENDAR GIRLS" has a set by Robert Jones, with lighting by Malcolm Rippeth, costumes by Emma Williams and music by Steve Parry.

"CALENDAR GIRLS" is produced by David Pugh & Dafydd Rogers.

Performance times at the Noël Coward Theatre are currently Tuesday - Saturday at 7.30pm with Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday matinees at 2.30pm. Tickets, priced from £5.00 - £48.50, are available from the box office on 0844 482 5140 or at www.seecalendargirls.com.
