SWEENEY TODD by Walsall Operatic Society from Tuesday 13 - Saturday 17 March is a new production of the musical unanimously acclaimed by the critics as one of Stephen Sondheim's most powerful scores. This black comedy concerns the infamous homicidal career of Sweeney, the unjustly exiled barber who returns to 19th century London seeking revenge against the lecherous judge who coveted his young wife and falsely imprisoned him. Sophisticated, macabre, visceral and uncompromising, Sweeney Todd mixes intense drama with daring humour; audiences find themselves laughing one moment and gasping in surprise at the next. This is an amateur production.
CLOUDBUSTING - THE MUSIC OF KATE BUSH on Wednesday 21 March is a tribute that celebrates forty years since The Kick Inside announced to the world the genius of Kate Bush. A FEAST OF GILBERT & SULLIVAN on Sunday 25 March is an afternoon of music and merriment with former stars of the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company in the UK's No 1 Gilbert and Sullivan concert. Join our soloists as they perform your favourite Gilbert and Sullivan songs in all their traditional glory backed by The British Philharmonic Orchestra, and entertain you with witty anecdotes of their time spent in the acclaimed D'Oyly Carte Opera Company. Everyone's favourite 1970s classic TV comedy, SOME MOTHERS DO 'AVE 'EM is back with Joe Pasquale starring as the loveable accident-prone Frank Spencer, Sarah Earnshaw as his wife Betty and Susie Blake as his disapproving Mother-in-Law, Mrs Fisher. The most successful sitcom of the decade gave us the hapless Frank and his long-suffering wife Betty with catch phrases galore and a never-ending list of disasters with roller-skating escapades and runaway chickens. GRIMETHORPE COLLIERY BAND on Saturday 7 July at 7:30pm. Formed in 1917, during the First World War, Grimethorpe Colliery Band is a British institution. National and British Open Champions on numerous occasions, the band's contest successes remain legendary. These include 16 Brass In Concert Championship titles, 11 times Yorkshire Regional Champions, two English National Championship victories, four times British Open Champions and four times National Champion Brass Band of Great Britain. Grimethorpe's diverse noted concert performances include those at the FIFA World Cup, BAFTA Awards, BBC Proms, Eurovision and London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, together with a wealth of national and international television and radio appearances and professional recordings. The band has been the recipient of two gold discs, as well as a BAFTA nomination for its contributions to the global hit movie Brassed Off.

South Staffs Musical Theatre Company present TOP HAT from Tuesday 9 - Saturday 13 October which brings the glamour of Hollywood's golden age and the glorious, tap-dancing magic of Fred Astaire's and Ginger Rogers' world-famous dance partnership to the stage. This 2011 musical based on the 1935 film of the same name, tells the story of Broadway sensation Jerry Travers who dances his way across Europe to win the heart of society girl Dale Tremont. An uplifting and entertaining romantic comedy celebrating 1930s song, style and romance, TOP HAT features fourteen songs by Irving Berlin. These include some of his greatest hits such as Cheek to Cheek, Puttin' on the Ritz and Let's Face the Music & Dance. The London production of TOP HAT won the 2013 Laurence Olivier Awards for Best New Musical, Best Costume Design and Best Choreography. This is an amateur production.
