Jane Fallowfield Appointed New Literary Manager For The Royal Court Theatre

Jane Fallowfield has been appointed as the new Literary Manager for The Royal Court Theatre. Jane, who is currently Literary Associate at Talawa Theatre, will join the theatre in April 2019.

Vicky Featherstone, Artistic Director of The Royal Court Theatre comments;

I've long been an admirer of her work and the vision, care and ambition that she has demonstrated as Literary Associate at Talawa is unparalleled. I can't wait to see how she will take the Royal Court forward for the writers over the next few years."

Jane has been Literary Associate at Talawa Theatre Company since 2014. Previously she was director on attachment at Clean Break, director on placement at Birmingham Rep and Senior Reader at Paines Plough. Other projects include working with dancers at Breakin' Convention, teaching at East 15 and co-running the BBC London Voices programme. Jane has directed new plays including 'Drip' by Tom Wells and Matthew Robins (Hull UK City of Culture and Bush), 'Red' by Somalia Seaton (Company 3), 'Bird' by Laura Lomas (Derby Theatre, Hackney Downs Studios), 'Germ Free Adolescent' by Natalie Mitchell, 'Fingertips' by Suhayla El Bushra (Clean Break), 'Cosmic' and 'Spacewang' by Tom Wells (Hull Truck), 'The Only Way is Chelsea's' by Frazer Flintham (York Theatre Royal and Soho Theatre) and 'Lagan' by Stacey Gregg (Ovalhouse).

Jane replaces Chris Campbell, who managed the Royal Court's literary department for eight and a half years and who has joined Oberon Books as Senior Editor.
