Britain's Independent Television News reports that television talent show is being planned to cast the role of reality TV star Jade Goody in an upcoming London musical based on her short and celebrated life. Danny Hayward, her former business partner and friend, is in charge of planning the production.
Discussing who could fill her very dynamic shoes, choreographer Victoria Hayward remarked to the UK Sun, "Obviously there is nobody else I'm sure in this world quite like Jade. The musical is the latest in a series of projects launched since Goody's tragic death at the age of 27.
Jade Goody was former dental assistant who grew up in a poor London neighborhood, she gained fame in 2002 when she joined the cast of the UK version of the reality TV show Big Brother. She didn't win the show, but she did become a celebrity, earning fame through her post show appearances.
She was diagnosed with cancer last summer, and the progress of her illness was followed by the tabloid press, to much criticism. She reportedly sold the photos from her wedding for more than $1 dollars, and her funeral was televised.
Danny Hayward says the musical will have its premiere later this year."Her dream was to be in a musical, so obviously, when she passed away, it felt fitting to do something like this." To read an article on the planned musical of her life, click here.
