Improbable's 13th annual unconventional convention for arts people, Devoted & Disgruntled gets under way in January 2018. With significant funding via Royal & Derngate's Arts Council supported Changemaker programme and additional support from New Diorama Theatre, D&D 13 will be able to offer Access support in a wide variety of ways to D/deaf, disabled, BAME & Learning Disabled participants, bringing more marginalised issues into the mainstream conversation than ever before.

D&D is an opportunity for arts people at every point in their careers, from audiences to artists, CEOs to FOH staff, grassroots groups to seasoned professionals, to come together and focus on the question WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT THEATRE AND THE PERFORMING ARTS?

D&D uses Open Space, which means everyone attending sets the agenda as anyone can call a session and bring the issues and topics they want to discuss to the floor. This year's event is presented in association with Royal & Derngate, Northampton and The Core at Corby Cube, and in partnership with the New Diorama Theatre.

The most accessible ever D&D - For its 13th annual event, Devoted & Disgruntled is held this year in association with Royal & Derngate, Northampton and The Core at Corby Cube. Significant additional funding means Improbable will be working with a dedicated Access consultant to bring in more support staff than ever before to provide BSL interpretation and lip-speakers, to investigate and supply state-of-the-art Access technology and to really make this an event for everyone. Additional bursaries and support will also be available for participants with Access needs from across the UK.

Martin Sutherland Chief Executive & AnDrew Miller Executive Associate, Royal & Derngate Northampton say: "Having participated in Devoted & Disgruntled a number of times before, we are delighted to be able to make this vital event even more accessible for all of our colleagues this year. We constantly seek opportunities to ensure that the arts are for, by and with all and very much look forward to another weekend of fun, lively, provocative and reflective debate and discussion."

Back in London - Following two years taking this annual event to Birmingham and Bristol, D&D 13 is to be hosted by New Diorama Theatre who have a unique venue available in the form of ND2 - a beautiful circular space that is perfect for Open Space and is fully Accessible throughout. With a reputation for access, NDT are the perfect partners for D&D13. As well as providing the venue, New Diorama is funding grants for up to 150 artists of colour to attend from across the UK.

David Byrne, New Diorama Theatre's Artistic & Executive Director says: "Hosting D&D 13 is a huge honour. NDT work with hundreds of diverse artists and groups and, through providing 150 paid-for places, we will ensure that anyone who wants to attend can afford to be in the room. We can't wait to greet attendees from all across the country - many visiting NDT for the very first time. I promise that our welcome and hospitality will be second to none. Roll on January!"

Phelim McDermott, Improbable Co-Artistic Director, says: "D&D is...a slow but persistent revolution of meaningful dialogue and emergent action for our arts and culture...for whatever you want to make happen - and D&D is the first step."
