SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS returns to UK theatres direct from the West End starring TV favorite Steven Houghton (Bugs, London's Burning) and Susan McFadden, winner of ITV's Grease is the Word. Starting at the Grand Theatre in Blackpool on Friday 22 August, the tour visits over thirty cities and towns across the UK to Saturday 4 July 2009.

Voted the third most popular musical of all time by BBC Radio 2 listeners, SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS is a gloriously toe-tapping romp full of effervescent energy, dazzling dance routines and sixteen smash hit showstoppers. Steven Houghton plays Adam Pontipee, the role created by Howard Keel in the famous film version. Best known for playing the lead role of Ed in the BBC series Bugs and Greg Blake in London's Burning, he has played starring roles in West End shows including Desperately Seeking Susan, Blood Brothers, Martin Guerre, Cats and Spend Spend Spend, for which he received an Olivier nomination.

Susan McFadden, winner of ITV's popular Saturday night entertainment series Grease is the Word and fresh from her West End starring role as Sandy in Grease, plays Milly Pontipee. Her previous theatre credits include Kathy Seldon in Singin' in the Rain and Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King & I, both at the Olympia Theatre in her native Dublin.

Songs in this perennially popular classic include Bless Your Beautiful Hide, Wonderful, Wonderful Day, Goin' Courtin', Sobbin' Women, Love Never Goes Away and We Gotta Make It Through the Winter. Colourful costumes, punchy performances and electrifyingly energetic dance routines combine to create an unforgettable night of musical theatre.

Following Blackpool, SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS visits the Edinburgh Playhouse, Sunderland Empire, Oxford New Theatre, Bristol Hippodrome, Liverpool Empire, Nottingham Theatre Royal, Manchester Opera House, Dartford Orchard Theatre, Hull New Theatre and Birmingham Alexandra Theatre in 2008 and venues include Woking, Richmond, Cardiff, Brighton, Wimbledon, Stoke, Glasgow and Milton Keynes in 2009.

Produced by Peter Frosdick and Martin Dodd for UK Productions, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is directed and choreographed by Chris Hocking with Musical Supervision by Gareth Williams. Set design is by Charles Camm, with costumes by Elizabeth Dennis, lighting design by David Howe and sound design by Ross Portway and Jon Higson. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers has music by Gene de Paul, book by Lawrence Kasha and David Landay, lyrics by Johnny Mercer and new songs by Al Kasha and Joel Hirschhorn.
